Lady Gaga ends deal to sell new album to big-box retailer

Pop icon Lady Gaga has reportedly pulled out of a deal to sell an exclusive version her new album, 'Born This Way' at big-box retailer Target over its controversial political donations.

Target came under fire after it was reported that it donated funds to several anti-gay politicians and organizations.

Gaga had agreed to work with Target but explained to Billboard magazine in February.

"Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGBT charity groups and begin to reform and make amends for the mistakes they''ve made in the past,” New York Post quoted Gaga as telling The Advocate.

A rep for Gaga said, "Lady Gaga and Target came to a mutual decision to end their overall exclusive partnership."

Lady Gaga’s perfume will indeed smell — or at least evoke the smell — of semen and blood. The Fame Monster confirmed rumors of her body fluid-inspired scent to Australian radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O, saying, “I wanted to extract the feeling and sense of blood and semen from molecular structures.” Wait, what?
Gaga explained:

“[Blood and semen] is in the perfume but it doesn’t smell like it. You just get sort of the after feeling of sex from the semen and the blood is sort of primal. And the blood was taking from my own blood sample so its like a sense of having me on your skin.”



But overall, she says, it will smell “like an expensive hooker.” No word on where the semen sample came from, though.

Lady Gaga compares 'Born This Way' tracks to drugs

Lady Gaga has compared some of the tracks on ‘Born This Way’ to drugs.

While discussing the eclectic sound of her forthcoming record, the singer said her first single was like the drug ‘cannabis’ compared to the ‘heroin’ - a much stronger and more dangerous drug - of some of the other tracks.

“I, in jest, say that ‘Born This Way’ is the marijuana to the heroins of the album, the ultimate intense intoxication of the record. It''s an analogy,” Contactmusic quoted her, as telling Billboard.com.

“On the album there''s not an incredible amount of breadth and eccentricity. It''s quite eclectic. It ranges from ‘Born This Way’ being very light to the rest of the album becoming quite darker,” she added.

Miley Cyrus jokes about GaGa egg arrival

Miley Cyrus has said that she appreciated Lady GaGa's entrance at the Grammy Awards.

The 'Born This Way' star was carried down the red carpet on Sunday night encased inside a giant egg, which she later 'hatched' from during her performance.

"Next time I'm coming in on an egg. It's a real show-stopper! I want to do it!" joked Cyrus on the official Grammys telecast on YouTube.

"I like it because it's about who you are. I like that about her. She always does something totally outrageous because that's what GaGa is. You go!"

Other celebrities who reacted to GaGa's egg arrival on Twitter included E! host Giuliana Rancic, who explained to followers: "Lady GaGa is in the womb. She is inside and isn't born yet. She's incubating!!! No joke!"

Piers Morgan tweeted: "Think I might host tomorrow's @PiersTonight in same outfit that @ladygaga wore to #Grammys. #eggstraordinary", while Bachelorette star Ali Fedotowsky quipped: "She cracks me up!"

GaGa picked up three awards at the annual ceremony.

Lady GaGa 'to earn $100m in 2011'

Lady GaGa could earn more than $100m (£63m) by the end of the year, according to Forbes.

The financial publication says that GaGa's current tour could help her pass the $100m mark in 2011. Her tour grossed $133m in 2010.

The popstar plays to crowds of 14,000 on average and makes close to $2m gross per show. She nets nearly $800,000 a gig after security costs, promoter fees and other expenses.

The 'Poker Face' singer is scheduled to play 41 more concerts in large venues, which could earn her about $33m.

GaGa's next LP Born This Way arrives in stores this June. Album sales combined with another tour to support the record, merchandise sales and appearances would be enough to make her the year’s top-earning musician.

"We’re only seeing the beginning," said entertainment attorney Bernie Resnick, adding that GaGa is "just hitting her stride artistically and commercially now".

Lady Gaga 'buying Scotland's most expensive house'

Lady Gaga, known for her wacky outfits, is reportedly buying Scotland's most expensive house – a posh 8-million-pound mansion.

As per the reports, she has signed papers to buy stately home Yester House near Edinburgh.

It was revealed in September that the 24-year-old ‘Bad Romance’ singer was on the hunt for a Scots castle and now, according to US real estate website, The Real Estalker, she is ready to snap up the 60-room 17th-century mansion set in 200 acres.

The site said it was tipped off by an American who was told by a worker at Yester that a "contract has been signed for a sale to Lady Gaga".

The possible celebrity neighbour thrilled villagers in nearby Gifford.

"It would be good for business. I''ve heard she likes fish and chips, maybe she''ll come for a bar meal,” the Sun quoted Grant Bissett, of Tweeddale Arms Hotel, as saying.

However, estate agents Knight Frank said Yester House - which originally went on the market for 15million pounds two years ago - was "not under offer at this time" and were unaware of any interest from Lady GaGa.
