Lindsay Lohan to sue jewellery store?

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly planning to sue the jewellery store that she allegedly stole a necklace from, after it released surveillance footage of the day in question.

TMZ reports that Kamofie & Company sold the distribution rights to the footage - showing Lohan looking at items in the shop - to the AP, which then arranged a deal with Entertainment Tonight to give exclusive rights to air the recording for seven days.

However, Lohan is said to be exploring her legal options, after claiming that the money made from the tape deal - rumoured to be around $40,000 (£24,750) - amounts to profiting from her image.

A representative for Kamofie & Company told the website: "We regret to hear there is trepidation by Miss Lohan in connection with the video.

"We hope that everyone understands that this is beyond our control; the flood of the requests to see this video were simply too overwhelming. It was truly necessary to put it out."

Lohan is currently facing felony grand theft charges over a necklace which the company claims the actress stole from the showroom. Lohan denies the accusation.

Prosecution Says Fact That Lindsay Returned Necklace To Cops Is Evidence Of Guilt

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office believe they have a solid case against Lindsay Lohan if she does decide not to plea and instead to go to trial to answer felony grand theft charges, according to a source close to the situation.In addition to the incriminating surveillance video in their possession, the DA’s office believe that Lohan arranging for an associate to turn over the alleged stolen necklace to cops “shows guilt”, the source tells


The fact that Lindsay instructed them to return the necklace to the LAPD before a search warrant was executed at her house "proves that Lindsay stole the necklace,” the source says. “By having the necklace returned to the police, Lindsay basically admitted to cops that she was indeed in possession of the necklace. The DA will hammer this home if this case does not settle. There is absolutely no denying that Lindsay had the necklace."The crux of the matter is that the prosecution believe Lindsay established having possession of the necklace by turning it in to cops and that is evidence of guilt.

Lindsay Lohan denies stealing ever

Troubled US starlet Lindsay Lohan said Thursday she would never steal, a day after she pleaded not guilty to the theft of a $2,500 necklace from a Los Angeles jewellery store.

The 24-year-old actress told followers on her Twitter account that she had not been brought up to be dishonest -- and also lamented "absurd" press comment about a tight-fitting dress she wore to court on Wednesday.

"I would never steal, in case people are wondering. I was not raised to lie, cheat, or steal," said Lohan, who was released on bail after her latest brush with the law, but warned she could face jail if she breaks the law again.

"Also, what I wear to court shouldn't be front page news. It's just absurd. God bless xox L," she said, in reference to the clingy shot white dress she wore to court.

Lohan, who completed a court-ordered spell in rehab for drug addiction last month, allegedly walked out of the jewellery store in Venice Beach -- the seafront area of LA where she lives -- with the gold necklace on January 22.

The actress, who is on probation for a 2007 drunk driving offense and recently checked out of drug rehab, could face up to three years in jail if convicted on the grand theft charge.

She checked out of the Betty Ford clinic near Palm Springs last month, following a spell there after she was briefly jailed in September for failing a court-ordered drug test.

Lohan was sentenced in July to serve 90 days in jail and another 90 days in rehab for violating her probation in a drunk-driving case. But due to jail overcrowding, she served just 13 days before being freed to the detox facility.

A queen of Hollywood nights and a favorite target of the paparazzi, the former Disney child star was once considered one of the most promising actresses of her generation. But Lohan's career has dipped many times since 2005 amid legal woes, visits to rehab and movie flops.

Lindsay denies theft allegations

LOS ANGELES: Hollywood singer and actress, Lindsay Lohan, has denied allegations of stealing a necklace, claiming that the jewelry store let her borrow the necklace, and her stylist simply failed to return it.

The 24-year old singer and actress could be facing years in prison if she is charged and convicted of stealing a $2,500 "one of a kind" necklace from a Venice, California jewelry store.

As of now, the decision has not yet been made to charge Lohan. "The case remains under review," Los Angeles County District Attorney spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said on Saturday. "When we make a decision, we will let everyone know."

According to police, "Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific area obtained a search warrant on February 1, 2011, for actress Lindsay Lohan's Venice residence, to search for the necklace."

In a statement directed at the media, Lohan's criminal defense attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, told People, "We vehemently deny these allegations and, if charges are filed, we will fight them in court, not in the press."

Lindsay moves out of rehab to get ready for court appointment

The actress has left the Betty Ford center in Rancho, California to get ready for her court appointment tomorrow, reports TMZ.com.

The star is due to face the judge tomorrow at 8:30 AM where she could get tossed back in jail.

Earlier, she reportedly confessed to her pals that she needs rehab and not jail to overcome her drug addictions.

Dina Lohan Shopping Rehab Visit With Lindsay

The matriarch of the Lohan clan may be looking to financially benefit off of her daughter’s trouble, again.
Reportedly, she has been shopping a visit of her and her daughter, Lindsay Lohan in drug rehabilitation. She is supposedly looking to get an amount in the high 5-figures.

For that much money she is willing to let the highest bidder video tape the entire visit. If this is true, that is absolutely awful. The willingness to essentially “pimp” ones daughter is incredibly sad.

On the other hand, the family probably doesn’t have any other way to pay their bills. Lindsay hasn’t been working due to her substance abuse problems and hard partying ways. Selling interviews is probably the only way that they can generate income. Rehab is expensive and in this day and age making ends meet is tough as well.

However, even still, this has to have a negative impact on Lindsay and probably contributes to her ongoing problems. It looks like the Lohans need to get a new well-paying gig.

Is Lindsay Thinking About Selling Her Rehab Photos?

Rumor has it that Lindsay Lohan is thinking about selling a few of her rehab pictures for fast cash. Because Lindsay’s problems have made it difficult for her to get work, she is feeling the pressure to generate money the best way that they can.

When Lindsay is able to work, she can command a premium amount of cash but at this point, much less money than she could if she sold her photos. Some believe that for the right types of photos, Lohan can fetch up to $100,000.

Rehab and a celebrity lifestyle are costly to attain, not to mention attorney’s fees (it seems like Lindsay is always in court). If she has to support herself and her family, it’s understandable that the pressure might be getting to her, making selling photos of herself pretty tempting.

For those that have been following Lindsay, rehab photos are nothing new. She was photographed at the Cirque Lodge rehab center. I wouldn’t be surprised if those pictures weren’t by “accident.”

Well, selling pictures of oneself may not be the best way to make money but it certainly seems easy. And she’s not naked so, ‘no harm, no foul.’ There are worst ways to generate cash. She’s not really hurting anyone. I’m pretty neutral on this. If she doesn’t make money from these images, someone else will, so I say go for it!

Michael Lohan Fighting for Conservatorship Over Lindsay

After Jamie Spears‘trend, publicity hungry Michael Lohan was confirmed to have filed conservatorship for daughter Lindsay Lohan. Michael was spotted by the paparazzi on his meeting with attorney David Chon last Wednesday outside West Hollywood’s Pacific Design Center. According to a source, the two talked about Lindsay, who has just been admitted in a rehab facility in Orange County after being arrested and held in prison for drunk driving.

According to Michael, his main intention is to keep her ex-wife Dina and the business manager of Lindsay, Lou Taylor from taking care of all the affairs of the actress, saying that the two are only using Lindsay for their own benefits. The public is not easily fooled, however, having been known the dark past and anger of Lindsay towards her father. Michael also seems to be anticipating that the judge won’t easily sign up Lindsay over to him but he said he already has two other options to take over his position in case the results of his application turns out negatively.

Michael seems to have got his confidence out of Britney’s dad conservatorship approval. The case between the two in entirely different, however, because Britney has been proven to be really losing her head and her dad, Jamie, is actually a mild-mannered man who never once sought for the attention of the paparazzi or asked for money from her daughter. As for Michael, why don’t you judge yourself as to what the real intentions of this man are?

Lindsay Lohan Re-Enrolls in Rehab

The last month or so has been a whirlwind for Lindsay Lohan. She managed to get released early from rehab, fail two drug test, got thrown in jail and released. Well, the saga continues.

Word is, Lindsay has re-enrolled in a drug rehab program, this time in Orange County. She has reportedly enrolled for a 90 day stint. But with Lohan, who knows how long she will actually stay put.

If, after October 21, the date of her next hearing in her probation violation case, she gets put in jail for 30 days, it really won’t matter how long she plans on staying in the program. The program would be interrupted because she would have to go to jail.

This latest rehab stay would be her fifth. Needless to say, Lindsay is no stranger to rehab. Hopefully, she will finally get the help that she so desperately needs.

Beyond the money, I hope Lohan turns things around because drug addiction can quickly become a matter of life or death. If she doesn’t do something, things could end very badly for the young starlet.

Lindsay’s Dad Goes After Her Laywer

Lindsay Lohan’s dad is at it again. This time, the person he’s going after, or at least threatening to go after, is his daughter’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley.

You know the lady who just got the judge to overturn Lindsay’s stay in the slammer and who has been representing her for the past few months.

Well, Lindsay’s dad, Michael Lohan, is accusing Shawn Chapman Holley of ruining the Lohan family.

He called Holley’s phone and left a threatening voice mail, stating that he would “dig up dirt” on her and ‘blow her out of the water’. Wow. This is pretty unbelievable if you ask me. In my estimation, Michael Lohan is a bit disillusioned.

Chapman isn’t the person ruining his family, The whole clan appeared to have problems long before she came in the picture to try and help Lindsay untangle a legal mess of her doing. The people to blame for the entire debacle and those that have come before this latest one are the Lohan matriarch and patriarch, Dina and Michael along. And let’s not forget, Lindsay herself.

She is the one choosing to continually use drugs, act uncontrollably and not use the help that has been provided to her. She is in denial and so our her parents. It’s always everyone else’s fault other then Lindsay’s. Until these three get it together, Lindsay is likely to always have problems.

For Shawn Chapman Holley’s part, she’s taking the high road. She has chosen not to press charges at this time.

Lindsay Lohan Denied Bail: Behind Bars

The saga continues! Everyone close to the Lindsay Lohan situation believed that this morning’s hearing for her recent probabtion violation, would be a short and sweet one.

“Insiders” and ”experts” believed that the Judge would allow Lohan to post bail and then send her on her merry way, at least until the official hearing.

Well, surprise, surprise! Judge Elden Fox shocked everyone. He refused to listen to any arguments from attorneys. Instead, he denied Lohan’s bail and had her taken into custody. So how long will Lindsay be behind bars? Many believe until October 22nd.

In case you haven’t been following all of the drama, Lindsay is in trouble for failing two drug tests. These two failed drug tests are such a big deal because Lohan was on probation and her staying out of jail was contigent upon her not using drugs. To make sure she stayed clean, she was required to take weekly drug test.

Lohan ended up failing her drug tests for two consecutive weeks. One test was positive for Adderall and the other for cocaine. These failed drug tests are in violation with her probation and could (actually, now they have) land her in the slammer.

The amount of time she will end up spending in jail for these offenses would be in addition to the time she is currently spending behind bars.

Maybe Lindsay will finally take the legal system seriously. She has been skating by so long, getting by on her tears, looks, stardom and saying the right things. Maybe Lohan will finally get that she is like everyone else, and so not above the law.

Hopefully, this move by Judge Elden Fox will help save Lindsay’s life because she is certainly out of control and more time spent on the streets might have def been harmful!

However, the terms of probation state that any positive drug test will result in 30 days in the slammer. The District Attorney has not yet been officially notified and thus there is no court date, at least not yet. Stay tuned.

Chelsey Handler and Lohan Make Light Of Lohan’s Recent Run-ins

Chelsea Handler and Lindsey Lohan made fun of each other’s vices in a special bit for the MTV awards which Handler hosted yesterday.

Lindsay confronted Handler in the hallway and proceeded to ask her if the drink in her hand contained alcohol. Handler denied it.

When she did, Lindsay first pointed out the fact that her monitoring ankle bracelet was lighting up like a Christmas tree and then threw her up against the wall, spilling her drink.

She then verbally let her have it exclaiming that no one likes to work with a drunk, she would know (making light of her recent run-ins, ankle bracelets and rehab stints). She then spanked her and let her go about her merry way.

The bit was funny because Chelsea drinking prowess and affinity is well known and well, everyone knows all about Lohan’s drinking and drugs problem. It provided a great way for Lohan to break the ice and inch her way back into the industry.

The clip was pretty funny. Both ladies looked good and the short generated a lot of laughter, at least from me!

Who’s Getting The First Lohan Interview?

Since Lindsay Lohan’s release from jail and rehab, news outlets have been jostling to be the first to interview her. She has had numerous offers for television interviews.

One of the biggest suitors is “Today” and according to inside sources, NBC is quite serious about interviewing the former Adderall addicted starlet.

Lindsay Lohan is thinking very seriously about giving NBC her first post-rehab interview. They are one of the forerunners. According to Dina, Lohan’s mom, Lindsay has decided who she will grant her first sit-down television to. However, neither of the dynamic duo is talking but word should be leaked pretty soon.

Eyewitness: 'Lohan saw hit-and-run stroller'

Lindsay Lohan clearly saw the baby stroller that she eventually struck with her car in a hit-and-run incident on Wednesday, an eyewitness has claimed.

Photographer Austin Visschedyk told Radar Online that he believed the Mean Girls star simply chose not to stop her vehicle when she reportedly bumped into a woman and her child crossing a West Hollywood street.

"I pulled up next to Lindsay after I saw her knock the stroller," Visschedyk said. "I said, 'Whoa, what the f**k are you doing?'"

Adding that the actress was left "momentarily speechless", he reported that Lohan eventually replied: "Well, I saw them, but they didn't move out of the way."

Visschedyk also disputed suggestions that Lohan was only travelling at a slow speed during the collision, insisting that her reckless driving even frightened a man on the sidewalk.

He said: "There was a guy standing on the corner who jumped back when it happened. He was clearly scared."

Despite Visschedyk's claims, other eyewitnesses have maintained that the crash was an accident resulting from Lohan "failing to look both ways before turning".

Lindsay Lohan Stroller Accident, Much Ado About Nothing?

A photographer who supposedly witnessed Lindsay Lohan mow down a stroller may have been exaggerating, according to a fellow photographer.

The first guy claims that Lohan ran a red lght and hit the stroller with so much force that most of its wheels left the ground. He reportedly has video of the collision.

The second photographer tells a different story. According to him, the light was actually green and while Lindsay did hit the stroller, she was only going about one mile per hour. She also hopped out of the car to make sure everything was ok.As of the reporting of this story, no police report has been filed, but stay tuned, you never know!

So Happy To Be Free

Heading out for an evening on the town, Lindsay Lohan was in high spirits while spotted fueling up her black Mercedes in Los Angeles on (August 26).

Offering a smile and the peace sign, the “Mean Girls” actress was joined by her friend Eliat who was actually handling the driving duties as the paparazzi looked on.

Earlier in the day, LiLo expressed her frustration with the shutterbug attention while she was tooling around town.

She tweeted, "Clearly.. Paparazzi shouldn't be allowed to take pictures or video while someone's driving or at a stop light. 4every1's sake #trafficpolice."
