Tom Cruise 'original choice for DDLJ'

Tom Cruise is reported to have been the first choice for the leading role in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

The Times of India reports that Aditya Chopra had originally wanted to make a crossover film with a US actor in the main part.

However, the newspaper claims that the filmmaker had to rework the script as producer Yash Chopra did not want to cast a foreign star.
