Deepika Padukone has revealed that she's always wanted to play a classic Bollywood heroine.
The actress is to take on Sharmila Tagore's role in a remake of the 1971 blockbuster Amar Prem, New Kerala has reported.
In an interview with the site, she said: "I want to do a classic Hindi-film heroine's part. That's my true calling. I'm really looking forward to it."
Padukone added that she had bonded with former Break Ke Baad co-star Tagore, who the former described as "one of the most elegant ladies" she has ever met.
