American Idol Sued For $100 Million

American Idol is being sued for $100 million by a former contestant. Ian Benardo, originally sued the popular, televised talent show for $300 million but withdrew that lawsuit.

He re-filed and this time leveled a $100 million lawsuit at the company, claiming that the second figure was a “cleaner” number.

Benardo is suing for sexual harassment and discrimination. He claims that he was exploited because of his sexuality. According to Ian, the producers at Idol ordered him to “gay it up.” No word from American Idol concerning the suit.

I’m not a ‘legal eagle’ but I’m not so sure that he has a strong case. However, who knows? Perhaps American Idol will settle with Benardo to get the whole thing over with.
